Ashley Benson Inspired Makeup

Hey Guys! Wow, sorry for waiting so long to post. It’s been a really crazy summer. Looking for jobs and helping my parents completely restore the outside of our house has left me with very little free time. I feel bad about slacking on my blogging, but I’m going to try to make it at least at weekly thing.

Since this blog started as a place to review products (mostly makeup), I decided to do another makeup tutorial. I absolutely love Ashley Benson. I think she’s great on Pretty Little Liars and she was crazy amazing in Spring Breakers. She’s absolutely gorgeous and her makeup is always flawless.

I decided to do my own version of her makeup when she does the brown/gold smokey eye look. She wears hers a little heavy for my taste, so this is a lighter version of her look. I hope you like it!

Okay, so first of all I put my concealer/foundation on. This is generally how I put it on my face before blending it all in with my concealer brush. I used Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I really like the coverage that it gives and that the color blends in with my skin nicely. I usually have a lot of trouble with foundation leaving me with an orange-ish skin tone and this doesn’t do that at all.

And here’s what my face looks like once it’s all blended in. After I blend in my foundation I use Maybelline Mineral Powder Finishing Veil Translucent Powder to set everything. My face gets really oily throughout the day (gross, I know) so I really need powder to keep that in check. (Also, I know some people wait to put on powder until they are completely finished, and that’s okay too. This is just what I do.)

Next I put on a shimmery dark brown eyeshadow that came in a palette I got from the store 579. I have another post that shows what the palette looks like. I use this color all the time, especially when I want a darker color/smokey eye effect.

Ahh sorry the photo’s so dark!! After putting the dark brown shadow over my whole eyelid, I brushed a gold shadow from the same palette just in the center of my upper eyelid. It made the center of my eyelid look super shimmery and gave it that extra something to really pop. I then wet an eyeliner brush and used it with the same dark brown shadow to use on my lower lash line. I didn’t use too much of it because when I wear a lot of makeup under my eyes it makes me look tired. Ashley Benson wears a ton of under eye makeup so do whatever fits your taste 🙂

Once I had the shadow blended and the way I like it, I used Rimmel London ScandalEyes Liquid Eyeliner to just line the top. Honestly, this is just something I always do when I wear makeup. I feel totally naked without any liner on my upper lids, so if you don’t like this look then do your own thing. Ashley also wears liner on the bottom, so if you want a look more like the photo of her at the top you can do that too. I finished everything off with mascara on my top and bottom lashes. I used Maybelline The Colossal Volum Express Mascara.

I dabbed just a little bit of NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Forever Fuchsia (that I got complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster) on my lips and blended it in to give the look a pop of pink and this is my finished look! I hope you guys like this, it’s fun for me to do and a good excuse for me to spend a long time doing my makeup when I’m bored. Leave me comment and things, I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time, xoxo
