Influenster Venus® Snap with Embrace Review

4b5f65d72d57f1fa4bd999582386cff2Hi all,

Recently I received the Gillette Venus Snap VoxBox complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster! I was so excited to receive another VoxBox so soon after my last one (guess I’m moving up in the Influenster world!).

The Venus Snap is marketed as an on-the-go razor. It’s small enough to conceal in a bag and make it very portable. It also came in this cute little blue, plastic case that makes it easier to carry around without having to worry about damaging the blades.

“How to Become a Writer” by Lorrie Moore

8220380da98719e4cd14efbc79d6023f

I thought that the instruction was very clear in Moore’s story. It seemed like she was telling you everything you needed to do to become a writer. The story was also very enjoyable for me. I thought that the stories she was writing for her classes seemed like they were sort of funny, and I wanted to read at least one of them to see what it would be like to read something with no plot. It seemed like she was a really good writer, but she did not understand how to put together a story. Her stories were just ideas for stories and could have probably been edited to have a plot, but no one really helped her to actually put a story together. It was sort of ironic that she was writing about how to be a writer and people were constantly telling her that her writing was not worth reading.

I did not find this story depressing, like others in my class did. Even though she was not successful, she was doing something that she wanted to do and worked really hard to be a writer. Plus, if this is something that we are supposed to believe the character is writing, she was able to write something with a plot.

Casinos: Five People On The Front Lines

Given the size of most gaming operations, it’s often difficult to put a “face” to any particular organization (besides Donald Trump, and he’s largely famous for his other endeavors). Despite this, there’s still a fair number of important people – some within the industry, some who would like to destroy the industry and some who feel the industry helped destroy them. Here’s five people and organizations  to know.

Sculpture Student Sends Message With Reclaimed Materials

J. Thaddeus Lutz received the opportunity of a lifetime when he began his internship with Darla Jackson at the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym.

After the junior sculpture major took a 3D wood shop class with Ryan McCartney, he told McCartney that he was interested in trying to cast metal. That was when McCartney recommended that Lutz check out the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym.

“Eventually, he got in contact with Darla Jackson and he just asked her if she needed an intern,” Lutz said. “I started it, fell in love with it, and now I’m really good friends with Darla and it’s awesome.”

NYC Expert Last Lip Color

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Forever Fuchsia

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Forever Fuchsia

I received this product from Influenster complimentary for testing purposes. I absolutely love this color, it’s so bright and vibrant, very pink! It also lasts forever! Seriously. The first time I wore it I forgot that I had it on and kept touching my lips and drinking from cups, not once did it come off on the cup and it looked great after hours of wearing it.

I can’t wait for brighter, warmer weather and to be tan so that I can wear this more often!

“Letters to Wendy’s” by Joe Wenderoth

This story/series of letters was extremely disturbing to me. Some in my class found it funny, but I think most felt the same as me. If I worked at Wendy’s and received these letters in a comments box, as I assume they were intended to be written for, I would be so freaked out. This man would probably be banned from Wendy’s forever if this was true.

I feel like the whole point of the letters was to shock whoever reads this. Once again I’m a little concerned about my professor and the stories he decides to assign us.

The writing was good and there was a definite flow, but I could not get over how creepy this guy was. I also kind of wish that he wrote more about his life in the letters. I wanted to know if he was in a relationship that wasn’t working out or if he just had some serious issues he was dealing with. He does discuss that a little bit when he writes about his mother spanking him, but I wanted to know more. The whole thing kind of felt like he was just trying to be weird and write about his strange sexual fantasiesSide note: My ex-boyfriend worked for Wendy’s and I honestly could never eat there again after hearing him talk about it. Never eat the chili.

My Everyday Look featuring Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse

Sorry for the blurry picture!

Sorry for the blurry picture!

Since I received the Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse Foundation free for testing purposes from Influenster, I decided to make a post showing my every day make up look and the products that I use.

So far I really like this product. Even though it feels sort of like it would be heavy, it smooths on the skin very nicely and feels so light it’s like I’m barely wearing any makeup. The coverage is also a plus, it covers we enough that I don’t need to use any other concealer.

Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure

IMG_4956

I was so excited when I heard that I would get to test Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure. My mom has used this product for quiet some time and has always raved about them.

Of course as soon as I got my UniVoxBox from Influenster I put these nails on. They were so easy to use and I absolutely loved the pattern. The only complaint I had at first was that the tabs on the inside tips were somewhat uncomfortable. It wasn’t a huge problem and I was surprised to find out that I could file the nails down even after they were applied. After I did that, they looked and felt great!
